Not decorative. Just\u2026 powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The young employee frowned slightly, taking it with careful hands.<br>\u201cWhat is this\u2026?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRead it,\u201d the old man said softly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The young man\u2019s eyes scanned the card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And widened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Silence cracked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The receptionist leaned forward.<br>\u201cWhat does it say?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His voice came out barely above a whisper.<br>\u201cHe\u2019s the founder\u2026 of the largest salon chain in the city.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A ripple of shock spread instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The stylists straightened. Smirks vanished. Faces drained of color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The receptionist\u2019s lips parted, but no words came.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The old man looked around\u2014not angry, not proud. Just tired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI built places like this,\u201d he said calmly. \u201cTo make people feel human.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His gaze settled on the young employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut somewhere along the way\u2026 that was forgotten.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He gently took back the card, then placed it in the young man\u2019s hand again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou didn\u2019t forget.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The young man stood frozen, overwhelmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCome tomorrow,\u201d the old man added quietly. \u201cWe\u2019ll talk about your future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then he turned and walked toward the door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This time, no one whispered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No one laughed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No one moved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because the man they had just tried to throw out\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Owned everything they thought made them important.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Part 2 : The salon held its breath.
