Emily moved closer to her mother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mother stopped breathing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chosen the coffin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Handled the hospital paperwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And spent years telling her daughter to stop searching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He looked directly at her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mother stared at her son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then at the photograph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the back was an address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And beneath it, one sentence in her mother\u2019s handwriting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep him hidden until she signs everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mother suddenly understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Thomas \u201cdied,\u201d she had inherited a large trust left specifically for the surviving child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mother immediately pulled both children close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time, there was no fear in her voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
